Sungkei Ria at Riverside Majestic Hotel

This year’s Ramadhan, NTGravity Zone and few other fellow bloggers from Sarawak Bloggers Society has been invited to experience Sungkei [ Iftar / Berbuka Puasa in Sarawakian local] at Café Majestic Coffee House of Riverside Majestic Hotel. The hotel located in city center, popular with nickname Kuching Golden Triangle.

The hotel is adjacent to the Riverside Shopping Complex and opposite this hotel is their sister property - Grand Margherita Hotel, plus the Sarawak Plaza Shopping Complex and the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation Building [SEDC].
On the left side of the hotel building [which also named Riverside Majestic Hotel Puteri Wing] is a brand new Riverside Majestic Hotel - Astana Wing.
The buffet started from 17th May until 14th June 2018 features mouth-watering Traditional Malaysian Kampung and International cuisines in a relaxing ambience and atmosphere.
For Muslim guests’ convenience, Riverside Majestic Hotel also provides designated male and female prayer rooms and a section for wuduk. [Kudos!]

Few action stalls offering Rojak Buah, Rojak Sotong, assorted Sushi and Maki, Coconut Chutney, Roti Canai, Murtabak Laksa Kolok, Mee Kolok, assorted traditional Malay kuih, beverages and desserts.

An array of local ulam-ulaman also served with a selection of sambal like Sambal Belacan, Sambal Hijau, Sambal Mangga and Sambal Tempoyak. A varieties of kerabu such as Kerabu Hati Ayam, Kerabu Pucuk Ubi, Kerabu Daun Selon and Kerabu Lumek, are served as appetisers alongside the wide selection of fresh salads.

At carving station, this buffet serves Roasted Lamb, Nasi Minyak and Acar.

| Soup, Bubur Lambuk, Bubur Pedas and a selection of homemade and local breads are part of the daily menu. |
Bubur Pedas : One of Ramadhan's popular dishes for Sarawak [ mostly Muslim] community that based from rice blended with spicy herbs. This 'Porridge' usually cooked with variety of vegetable such as potato, dry tofu, dry mushrooms, black fungus, baby corn / corn buds, long beans and eggplants and many other according to own preference. Chicken meat / Beef [with or without] tendons / dried prawns also usually added in this dishes.
Just like dates during Ramadhan, either of this Bubur is a must have.
