May Peace Be Upon You....

Bet most of you have tried Samyang noodle that has been viral since last year.

I would like to try it out but when I read those reviews / blogs / vlogs - most of them say it very spicy and yummy!

My expression was like...

People that i know and love tried it as well but I can't really trust their comment because most of them are spicy eaters!

...and i'm... well... not really like spicy food as i'm sweet enough

Seems that it's one of my bucket list - i finally give it a try [after numerous empty 'One-day-i-will-fill-in-the-blank promises] 🤪

the level 2 spiciness out of probably 6 or 7 levels out there.

I bought one few weeks ago after I finally and unanimously wanted to try it.

...but i've 🐔 out...

... and my brother ate it all. Haishh!

Finally [again] two weeks after that, i bought another one. This time i'm REALLY going to try it. Not really sure what inspired me - the cheese or the curiosity... i think both! LOL! 😂

Finally ladies and gentlemen... that ONE day has arrived...

so freaking yeah...

the ingredients...

Straight up!
Proud moment!
I've taken a photo of piling tissue that i use to wipe those sweat and snorts but that's for me to know and for you no need to find out. 🤧 hahaha...

Sweet cakes, chocolates and sweet tea as my emergency antidote to relieve the spiciness..
Samyang Ramen - check!! ✅
Verdict : Spicy AF! hahahaha... not gonna try it again... nope!...

NTGravity :  Although i'm kind of late bloomer.. hahaha... while the vibe maybe already gone, i just did it... hahahaha
Nokotta~!!

May Peace Be Upon You...,

Always try to be supportive for any local creative scene as much as we can, last Saturday NTGravity Zone was at Tha Block Party for Kuching very own cross-culture event where Sarawak meets Hip Hop movement that covers the five elements DJ, Breaking, Emcee / Rap, Graffiti and Beatbox.

The H Playground aka Singgahsana Lodge’s Back Alley
p/s : you can find a night street burger stall in front of that building.

Just started at the main stage
Tha Block Party is a free event organised by THA Project started from 12noon to 6pm jammed packed with activities at that back alley of Singgahsana Lodge. Their aim to provide a better understanding of what Hip-Hop culture is about and spreading skills and talents to the worldwide Hip-Hop community and providing more opportunities for the future generations in Borneo of Hip-Hop as a whole. THA Project also hope for the future generations will generate more events like this and develop their own styles and techniques by understanding the roots of this culture and cultivating our Borneo tradition in it.
[ Follow THA Project HERE ]

I can't say that i'm a huge follower in Hip Hop world but being born in late 70s - i pretty much well round when come to music genre but raised in the 80s up until now, i grew up with the cultures - the djing / emceeing and turntables, breakdancing, beatboxing, graffiti all are way too familiar to me.

Yet, i came to Tha Block Party for people that make it happen - our own homeboys / girls.
Following their Insta - i can see they carefully arrange everything nicely, the event crew, the media team, performers - beatboxers, rappers, emcees and their guests performers from Kalimantan and Sabah up to graffiti writers. Not forgetting breakdancers, skaters and vendors.

Hope this won't just end here,  we at NTGravity Zone hope more event like this in the future and Kuching community especially the Hip Hop supporters will keep it alive.

Anyways, no long to go for What About Kuching festival 2018, check it out all remaining event :: HERE ::

============================================
Big Lau | Opium Coffee
============================================

Another interesting short documentary about Opium Coffee that once famous for the oldies in Kuching town because it hits close to home. I remember when i was still little girl - sometimes my fader [Read: Father] will bring me [with or without my brother and mother] for breakfast, his late-uncle sometimes will tagged along in the car but infrequently joined us.

He is that time already in his 60s, was a sailor during his young-age and he can speak chinese!

Usually my fader will drop him somewhere at Central Police Station before we proceed to go breakfast somewhere at Pasar Ceko [I ever blog about it few years back, Read about it here]

My fader will then pick him up after that at the exact spot.

Anyways, i didnt know exactly about the Opium Coffee - never really heard about it but i only curious my fader's late-uncle always go 'lepak' there. I heard about him saying about craving for coffee to my fader before he drop off, but i was too young to ask about it. After years gone by i totally forgotten about it until 13 October 2018!

Thank you to Mr Director Lau of BIG LAU Studio 大刘工作室 for answering my long-overdue question. LOL!

So it's the Opium Cafe hidden somewhere at the back alley of Central Police Station area.

One of the shot from the short film - Opium Coffee
so is Opium Coffee really a cup of coffee with OPIUM?

well...

rest easy... it's just the name...
Anyways this is a great sessions and hope to have more like this in future so our own local talent can exposed themself and Kuching citizen can support them in return because as far as i know currently there are no society for them.

Kudos to OutBox 57 for organising this..! I wish everyone the best and hope to see more of your artwork soon! Proud of y'all!

There are more event around Kuching coming until end of month, check it out What About Kuching aka WAK2018 Calendar :: HERE ::

May Peace Be Upon You...

Wow.. it's an exciting month full of various Arts, Culture & Lifestyles events around Kuching city and we at NTGravity Zone surely don't want to miss the chance to give our support as tribute to the spirit of our beloved city, Kuching~❤️

[Credit source of information from Shades of Art via posters at the scene.]

This is the 13th edition of Shades of Art and this time with the theme, Ranee – a homage to the women of fairland Sarawak. The show is a tribute to women through a night filled with poetry, acoustic music, and art this time they choose to do it at Bing! Coffee, Green Height, Kuching.

About Shades of Arts :
Shades of Arts is a group of people that help advocate the arts and music scene by providing a platform for people who want to showcase their art or music.

It's all started as a small potluck party at a front porch of their friend's in 2007, rolled up into an acoustic show and mini art exhibition. As crowd slowly outgrew the porch, they decided to move it to a more cozy and intimate venue.

Shades of Art's team usually organised a night show filled with music, art and poetry in a cafe styled setting all at ZERO cost and budget, audience come to watch for FREE as well. They called it from the community to the community as artists and musicians will do their showcase pro bono yet encouraged to sell any merchandise or artwork, while on SOA's team are volunteer basis while the musical instruments or sound system are borrowed from friends.

Look how chill the ambiance - solo or with company should be fine..

Believe and I are having a great time listening while enjoying our Latte and Lasagna at Bing! Coffee at Green Height, Kuching.

My all time favourite at Bing! Coffee outlet.

Quite a crowd that night and limited place to sit but it's ok, we still can enjoying the sound / music from downstair.
Selfie opp for NTGravity Zone's latest travelling dude bear - Believe.

If you have talent and you want to showcase it, be it poetry, photography, visual arts or if you're a singer / song writers - please contact them as follow below :
