Irau Aco Lun Bawang 2014 : Day One [ Read About It ]

Now...  back to my journey... Around 7pm, Amirul and i heading back to Pak Yudan’s Homestay. We’re going to have our dinner there, together with the rest of Pak Yudan’s family and other lodgers. I’ve learned that Lun Bawang people will always do thing together and value relationship. They always gather together and discuss or have fellowship in peaceful ways, one of their favourite places is near the ‘Tetel’ [means: the fire place] and in the common room called ‘Sikang’. The whole families in the house will gather around and share stories with each other. Even when friends or relatives come to visit, they will sit near the fireplace to chat or discussed and this tradition was delivered, taught and learns by the Lun Bawang people to each other and to their young.

After delicious dinner and a mug of hot coffee later, we all head back to the Buduk Nur’s football field for night activities...

Oh yeah, it’s preferable to own a torchlight as there will be no street lights. Also please use the appropriate footwear as a walking path sometimes wet and slippery.

I have mine!

Not really fashionable but it sure grip...

Get Doc Martens or Doc Cardin's if you wanna look cool...

The path looks like this.

Upon our arrival to the main stage, they were introducing to the members of the organizing committee followed by a fireworks show, which last almost 10 minutes. It was sponsored by a Bruneian.

Villager houses in the background...

Live band taking place on the main stage, they sang songs in Lun Bawang dialect and some English too. For your info, they [ MC and Performers ]are using Lun Bawang dialect most of the time so i can't say much.

Cultural dance... Ahhh beautiful Lun Bawang ladies in traditional costume.

Up next Education Awards which will be awarded to outstanding students. Congrats!!

YB Baru Bian's daughter is the first one to receive the award.

Outstanding achievement awards at state, national and commonwealth to SK Ba Kelalan... *Seriously amazed!!*

Another music performance.. ♪٩(✿′ᗜ‵✿)۶♪

This instrument produces a sound similar to that of the didgeridoo (Australian Aboriginal instrument)

....but i forgot to ask about it! ε=ε=ε=ε=ε=ε=┌(๑ʘ∀ʘ)┘

Too bad my camera battery is dying on me... and i need to get back to my room at Apple Lodge to recharge before the lights out.

So that’s it for now... I’ll tell you more about the homestay on my next entry... Stay tuned!

Time to ‘telubid’ [ lie down ]
